Buckeyes' Luke Fickell, Already a Master of Coachspeak PDF Print E-mail
Quick Snaps - Michael B. Sisak 3rd

"We don't know what the plan is just yet," Fickell told Columbus Dispatch Buckeyes beat writer Bill Rabinowitz Tuesday. "We're going to have these guys compete. We have an idea what's going to happen."

Hopefully for Ohio State, the 4-for-18 schneid  -- 2-for-14 for Bauserman -- at Miami will have faded at least somewhat.

"Until we see them compete in practice, and how guys handle situations and roles and different things like that, we're not going to make a complete judgment just yet," Fickell added.

To be fair to Bauserman, three of the 12 incompletions were out-and-out drops by intended receivers and at least a couple others were decently-thrown. But neither quarterback dazzled the audience.

"I know you want to ask questions about one position, but I think it's about the whole team," Fickell said.

He is mastering coachspeak. But hopefully, he is also mastering the more complex task of orienting his quarterbacks to the tough tasks ahead.
